The Tulsa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Tulsa SPCA), founded in 1913, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving animal welfare by providing rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and community education services in the greater Tulsa area.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Tulsa SPCA. Primary job duties include: oversight of daily operations, public relations, personnel management, community outreach, fiscal management, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and the mission of the Tulsa SPCA. Bachelor’s degree and previous management experience are required; previous experience in a shelter setting is strongly preferred. Under the direction of the Clinic Supervisor the Clinic Assistant will assist the Veterinarian and Clinic Supervisor in various duties involving the care and management of animals in the clinic. Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to: cleaning cages, runs, kennels, and general cleaning duties associated with the clinic facility; and feeding and care of animals assigned to the clinic. Will assist and perform medical related duties to include the administering of medications and immunizations, collection of laboratory specimens, restraint, capture, and movement of animals, will also prepare equipment, instruments, and materials. Qualifications: working knowledge of a Veterinary clinic not required but preferred; working knowledge of basic computer skills; High school diploma or G.E.D. required with good math skills. Excellent oral and written communications and team oriented skills a must. Availability to work a varied schedule and shift changes required, weekends, some holidays, and overtime.
