Our clinic

We’re proud of our high-quality veterinarian clinic.

When a dog or cat arrives at our shelter, each is temperament-tested, thoroughly examined, given vaccinations, appropriate laboratory workup, medications, and spayed or neutered. Other surgical procedures are provided if necessary and in special circumstances other veterinarian specialists are consulted.

Upon adoption our dogs and cats receive the following:

Cats/Kittens:

  • Exit exam from nose to tail
  • Spay/neuter if kitty is old enough and of a good weight. If not, an additional $50 deposit to be required and refunded when the surgery is performed.
  • Weight
  • Temperature
  • Test for stool worms
  • Exit feline leukemia test
  • Preventative deworming even if test is negative
  • Grooming
  • Vaccinations are up-to-date
  • Exit letter explaining additional services that will be needed for the new cat/kitten when seen by adopting family’s personal veterinarian.

Dogs/Puppies:

  • Exit exam from nose to tail
  • Spay/neuter if dog is old enough and of a good weight. If not, an additional $50 deposit is required and refunded when surgery is performed.

  • Temperature
  • Test for stool worms
  • Preventative deworming even if test is negative
  • Heart worm test (if old enough) was done upon arrival and is given routinely every month until adopted
  • Vaccinations are up-to-date
  • Grooming
  • Exit letter explaining additional services that will be needed for the new dog/puppy when seen by the adopting family’s personal veterinarian.

Low Cost Vaccination Clinic

The Tulsa SPCA offers an open-to-the-public vaccination service every Friday, providing low cost vaccinations and some tests for common disorders in dogs and cats.  No appointment is needed for this service; for cost information, please click here.

Spay/Neuter Clinic

The Tulsa SPCA offers an open-to-the-public low cost spays and neuters.  Appointments are required, to make an appointment please call us at 918.428.7722 and for cost information please click here.
