January Events

Second Chances are a wonderful gift of life.  Meet Greg, he was a rescue from Wilburton; now in a loving home and enjoying his family.  Tell us your story and if you don’t have a story, look at some great opportunities to write your rescue story.  Click here and read for more information….

We are celebrating the rescues we have done over the past year.   What a great time to adopt your next rescue and/or tell us your story!   We are offering great discounts for our furry rescues that we would love to see go with families to their new homes.  We are also having a contest with Tulsa SPCA prizes for the best stories for rescues who have been adopted.  We want to hear your story of adopting a pet and how they have enriched your life.  These stories don’t need to be limited to Tulsa SPCA dogs.

We are offering discounts on several of our wonderful animals at the Tulsa SPCA to encourage families to come out and find their next furry family members.  These discounts are for the month of January and only pertain to pets that are over 1 year of age.

In early July we did a rescue of 80 dogs, 6 cats, 2 horses and a duck from the Wilburton area.  Since that time we have adopted out several of these wonderful pets, but have a few hanging around the Tulsa SPCA still waiting for their new homes.  We would like to encourage families to come and visit with them to see if a great match can be made.  For these furry pets, we are offering 50% off their adoption fee.

In late July we helped bring in 63 cats/kittens that were in need of medical attention; since then over half have found homes, but there are still a few that would love to have families come out and bring them home.  We are offering 40% off their adoption fee.

In Mid-December we assisted in a rescue of a puppy mill closure.  Of the 72 dogs that needed rescuing, we brought to the Tulsa SPCA 46 dogs, plus a Chihuahua nursing 6 puppies.  Even though these furry friends were from a puppy mill where they received very little care, they are extremely friendly and want human companionship.  For these little ones, we are offering 30% off their adoption fees in hopes that we can encourage families to come and see these little guys and gals.

Also in Mid-December we took in 3 horses after they were rescued from a horrible situation.  Lady, the mare,  was diagnosed with Founder Horse Disease, a potentially devastating disease characterized by inflammation and pain located mainly in the front hooves of horses.  She is being given treatments and we are hopeful for a full recovery.  The two colts, Rocky and Red, are in good shape and are currently getting routine medical attention.  At the time they were rescued, they were starving, but while they were in custody, they were given balanced meals.  All three will soon be in their foster homes.  At this time we are offering 20% off their adoption fees.
