Updates of these Three Puppies

Kelly, pet care specialist, weighing Lilith to make sure she continues to gain needed weight.

The boys, Lincoln and London, playing in their room. Apologies for the blurry, but they were having fun.

As you have read below, we got a call from the Osage Sheriff’s Office asking for help of three helpless puppies.  They were evaluated upon arrival to the Tulsa SPCA and diagnosed with intestinal worms, coccidia, dehydration, malnourished, and ringworm.  They were extremely afraid of humans and coward in the corner of their pens.

Here are photos taken yesterday of these three little puppies.  As you can see they are doing quite well on their road to recovery.  They learned to climb out of their pen, so they have the entire isolation room to themselves.  When you walk into the room you have to be careful of puppies jumping all over you and giving you kisses.  They are now acting like puppies.  Once they have completed their ringworm treatments and get at least half of their puppy shots, they will be ready for adoption.

These are the types of success stories that makes it worth the efforts and hard work our staff puts in for each and every animal that shows up.  Thank you Tulsa for your support, so that we can continue with these types of efforts.

Sick Puppies Arriving to the Tulsa SPCA

Arriving to the Tulsa SPCA

Osage Sheriff’s Office called our Cruelty Investigator to see if we were able to help 3 little puppies that had been dumped on a county road in the southeast corner ofOsageCounty.  When Tulsa SPCA met with the party that found the puppies our initial assessment was that these puppies were very sick and needed our help.  There are 2 males and one female and are about 14 weeks old.  They are a Rottie mix that only weight about 11 pounds.  When we brought them to our clinic our staff further examined them to find that all have a bad case of ringworm and intestinal worms.  One of the males appears to be anemic and the female has a broken leg and can not bear any weight on it.  Tonight we are treating them for the digestion worms and dehydration.  We will have a better action plan for them tomorrow when Dr. Cash comes to evaluate them.  We know that we will need to do an x-ray on the girl and start ringworm treatments, plus more if needed.
