SUPPORT SPECIALIST- Part time 20 hr./ week position
Under the direction of the Pet Care Lead; the Support Specialist will ensure a clean, healthy, and safe environment for animals in the care, custody, and control of the Tulsa SPCA.
Primary job responsibilities: Daily cleaning and disinfecting of: cages, runs, kennels, yards, cat colony room, and general cleaning duties associated with the TSPCA facility. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills at all times to public/their pets/ and pets in waiting; must be polite and professional, knowledgeable about animals in the facility. Any other job related duties and responsibilities relating to the management and wellbeing of the shelter animals as assigned.
Qualifications: strong interest in and commitment to animal welfare and to providing a physically and mentally healthy environment for shelter animals. Providing quality care with respect and dignity to the animals at all times. Must have ability to restrain and handle a variety of animals under different circumstances. Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills are required. Must be organized, decisive, flexible, and adaptable to a fast paced environment. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Must possess a valid and current Oklahoma Driver’s License and have the ability to drive. Excellent oral and written communications and team oriented skills a must. Knowledge of basic computer skills desirable. Availability to work a varied schedule and shift changes required, weekends, and some holidays.
This is a Part time, non-exempt position. $10.00/hr. starting pay, 20 hours/wk. maximum.
