Prior to Mindy being hired, roughly 300 animals were adopted each year, and we were only able to provide services such as low-cost vaccines, cruelty investigations and adoptions.

Last year, we placed 1,393 pets in forever homes and on average provide housing, enrichment, and full-time care for 90+ animals each month both on our campus and in foster homes. In our low-cost vet clinic, not only do we serve animals awaiting adoption, but also provide low-cost services such as low-cost spay/neuter and vaccinations, preventative and minor needs care as well as additional services to the public (dental care, acupuncture, chiropractic care, cold laser therapy, heartworm treatment, mass removal, and more). We are also pleased to offer a variety of robust Community Engagement programs, like our Mobile Adoption Center, PAL (Pets Are Love) program and humane education.

Since then, we have renovated a 460-square-foot cattery in the shelter building originally donated to us in 1946. We also constructed the 7,000-square-foot John and Tricia Arend Clinic in 2019. In addition, we expanded our physical campus and infrastructure with the 2018 purchase of the Mayco Offices and Warehouse, which added a 20,000-square-foot building between the Tulsa SPCA and Highway 75.  This space is used for offices, maintenance projects, and storage for donations and vehicles. In 2021, we redesigned the previous 2,500-square-foot clinic building originally constructed in 1994 and transformed it into the Tiffany A. Campbell Volunteer Center, which houses volunteer management, community engagement and outreach, as well as our Cruelty Investigation and Diversion Services offices. In late 2022, we purchased 22 acres to the south of our campus to 36th Street North. Lastly, our Administration Services moved to Mrs. Powell’s former 1,820-square-foot home and we have a 1,500-square-foot barn next door.

Today, we have expanded to a $3.3 million budget. We rely on the generous spirit of our community, and all donations remain local.
