Last month our rescue partner OAA was alerted to an animal neglect situation where over 70 dogs were living in mostly outdoor enclosures without access to enough food or adequate shelter. Some dogs were tethered to trees, other's ran the entire property and most were in small enclosures with other dogs. Many dogs were brought into our care and Aries was one of them! Living outside with very limited human interaction is no way for such a cutie to spend her time and she's thankful to now be spayed, vaccinated and ready for adoption into a loving home! Aries is looking for a patient and understanding home with another friendly dog already in it, and no children present.

Survivors of inhumane boarding situations like this often face a unique set of issues. Potty training can take time, and these dogs are all very fearful of strangers, new environments, and being leashed.

The adjustment period post adoption can take months. The dog you bring home today will not be the dog you have in your home 6 months down the line. This can make it difficult for us to match you with the perfect dog for your home but being a part of that dramatic and positive change can be a deeply rewarding experience, and there are many resources to help you help them. These dogs deserve the best after so many years of inhumane housing and treatment! If you are interested in adopting Aries and giving her the life she was meant to have, visit tulsaspca.org/adoptable-dogs.

DRY DOG FOOD NEEDED! Covid-19 recipients and cold weather needs have depleted a vast majority of our dry dog food supplies. We take great pride is helping members of the Tulsa community when they need it most. Last year, we distributed over 40,000 pounds of dog food. We would appreciate donations of dry dog food to help us continue aiding those who have fallen on hard times. Sometimes the Tulsa SPCA providing food is the difference between keeping a pet at home or surrendering it to a shelter. Donated food can be ordered online and delivered to Tulsa SPCA, 3000 Mohawk Blvd, Tulsa, OK 74110 or dropped off at the same address between 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. We appreciate all your help as we continue to help our neighbors! ...

Do you take opened bags? Recently had to switch my dog to prescription food.

How harmful would it be to change dog food? Have always fed pedigree, but budget on unemployment is changing that
