The Tulsa SPCA has received an overwhelming amount of calls recently about stray animals. At this time, we are at capacity and are evaluating intake opportunities on a case by case, day by day basis. Many of our local shelters and rescues are in similar situations. Your local city shelter should always be your first phone call when finding a stray animal. If they are unable to assist you, below are some recommendations for the general public:
• Please do not pick up a stray animal unless you are able to temporarily care for it yourself, as shelters and rescues may not be able to immediately assist you.
• To be considered for an intake, please complete the surrender form at www.tulsaspca.org/surrendering-an-animal/ and email a photo of the animal to intake@tulsaspca.org; you will receive a response within 72 hours.
• If we have space and are able to intake the animal, we may be able to provide vaccinations at no cost to the finder (although donations are welcome) since the animal is a stray and not owned. If we cannot provide vaccines for free, max cost for them would be $22. The animal would need to be held by the finder for an additional week after vaccinations
• Furthermore, should you need additional resources or supplies in order to keep an animal, please let us know and we may able to assist you (i.e.: food, doghouse, litter box, etc.). If you aren’t able to keep an animal you have found, please ask us and we can provide you with a list of other rescues and resources who might be able to help. • We are in desperate need of foster homes and adoptive parents for the animals we have in our care. Please visit the links below to learn more:

• We cannot stress enough how important preventative care is for all animals in our community, including spay/neuter and vaccines. To learn more about our low-cost vet clinic and the services we provide, visit www.tulsaspca.org/clinic-services
• If there is an aggressive dog you are aware of, please contact Tulsa Animal Welfare at 918-596-8000. We will not accept aggressive dogs.
