The Tulsa SPCA works hard EVERY day to assist animals in need. The past few days have been extremely challenging AND rewarding as we helped the 64 dogs from Pontotoc County receive medical care, grooming services, proper nutrition, clean water and a safe place to sleep. ...not to mention all the love we showered upon them. We could not have done it without your help. We have been inundated with calls and emails asking how to help, how to donate, how to foster and how to adopt. Groomers showed up with clippers, supplies have arrived from around the country and our posts have been shared many, many times to spread the awareness of our work. THANK YOU to everyone who played a role. Unfortunately, animal rescue is a job that will never be done. Please use the donate button below to support us as we work to find forever homes for the Pontotoc County group and all the other dogs and cats who arrive at our shelter. Your generosity allows us to do this work with open hearts and open minds.
Willie Jack, the star of this video, thanks you, too! ...

Introducing Chester! Chester's a dog who, due to a hard life in his past, looks much older than he actually is. Chester is about 6 years old, but by his appearance and health condition when we got him, we assume Chester spent most of his life outdoors. He did spend some time in a foster home prior to his intake, and they reported he's good with other dogs and a very good boy indoors! Chester is neutered, vaccinated, heart worm tested, microchipped, and is current on parasite prevention. If you are interested in Chester, stop by the shelter to meet this good ol boy! We are open until 5:30pm today (closed 12:30-1:30pm). ...
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION: The number of people who have asked about volunteering at the Tulsa SPCA is incredible. Here is a bit of info that will help you navigate the volunteer process.
Ideal shifts for volunteering are 7:30am-12:30pm or 1:30-5:30pm, Monday-Sunday. We are closed each day from 12:30-1:30pm. If you would like to volunteer for an entire day, you can bring your lunch or leave our campus to go out to eat. We will have some cold bottled water and snacks, but feel free to bring your own.
Volunteers need to be 9 years old or older. Volunteers aged 9-17 need to have a parent volunteer with them.
Once onsite, we will ask you to complete a liability and photo release.
All volunteers MUST wear long pants, shirts with sleeves, no dangling jewelry. A hat if you are outside is encouraged, as is sunscreen and bug spray. Comfortable shoes that you are ok getting dirty and wet is also encouraged. We know it is hot outside, but these attire policies are for your safety.
We are in need of people to help in the following areas: cleaning kennels, help with feeding and watering, help with laundry and dishes (both in our shelter and clinic), help with socialization (please keep in mind these animals have had very little human interaction and contact, so this may consist of just sitting with them, talking to them, reading, playing soft music. While some may, most won't be ready to pet, walk on leashes, etc. You are welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on in the kennels.)
If you are interested in volunteering, DO NOT COMMENT BELOW. Instead email email@example.com to tell us the day and timeframe you want to volunteer. Only those who email will be contacted about volunteering.
We realize some people are not able to volunteer at the Tulsa SPCA, but still want to help. Please consider donating using the button below or at tulsaspca.org/donate/ to help offset the costs we are incurring to assist the dogs we took in from the Pontotoc County breeder. We appreciate all of you! ...
Only thing I don't see listed above are the days one can volunteer. Is this 7 days a week or something else? TY
Are u needing foster homes still
I know you said not to comment but there’s no sense of me contacting you through email if I can’t do it because of my schedule. What about if I can only help out from like 315 to 530. I don’t get off work till 3pm but live very close to spca so I could get there pretty shortly after??
